How engineered quartz is made
Aggregates, pigments and a binder become a formulated surface. A different production route from natural quartzite.

01Prepare the formulation
Mineral aggregates are blended with pigments and a resin binder to create a controlled formulation. Ingredients and proportions vary by manufacturer and product, so a single quartz percentage cannot describe every engineered surface.
02Form and compact the slab
The mixture is formed into a slab. In BretonStone-type production, vibration and pressure under vacuum compact the blend and remove entrapped air. The manufacturer controls the formulation and the way the pattern is created.
03Cure, calibrate, and inspect
Controlled curing hardens the binder. Slabs are then brought to the required thickness and finish, checked for quality, and identified for distribution. Curing conditions and finishing methods follow the producer’s process.
