LUXIFY / Wood

Solid and engineered wood

Solid planks keep one piece of timber from surface to back. Engineered floors pair a real-wood face with supporting layers; composite engineered floors use a real-wood face over another type of core.

What makes the difference

Layered construction generally reduces seasonal movement. Refinishing depends on the remaining usable wood and the manufacturer’s instructions, so total plank thickness alone does not tell you how often a floor can be sanded.

What changes the price

Compare the face material, board dimensions, sorting, finish and installation scope. A higher appearance grade describes a more selective visual result; it is not automatically a stronger floor.

Origin & identity

Species, timber harvest location and flooring manufacture location are separate facts. A collection name does not establish any of them.

What to compare

  • Solid, engineered or composite construction
  • Actual wood species and face thickness
  • Plank width, length distribution and grade
  • Finish system and repair instructions
  • Subfloor, moisture and installation requirements
