- Venato Carrara (Marble & Dolomite) is softer and can etch or scratch on a floor: a honed finish and a sealer are recommended.
- Caramel Bianco (Marble & Dolomite) is softer and can etch or scratch on a floor: a honed finish and a sealer are recommended.
- Venato Carrara, Absolute Black Dual Honed/Leather, Caramel Bianco: listed at 3 cm. The shop calibrates every stone to 2 cm so each piece sits flush, or adjusts the setting bed.
- Absolute Black Dual Honed/Leather: only 4.1 sq ft needed — it may come from a remnant.
Fabrication notes · to confirm with the shop
- Every piece has outside corners only: waterjet or CNC saw.
- Narrowest piece 3¾″; the planning rule is 1½″ minimum.
- Joints ⅛″, filled with color-matched epoxy; the rug is dry-laid at the shop and assembled on a backing in sections for transport.
- Thickness 2 cm; recommended for a floor: 2 cm.
- Polished stone is slippery when wet; for a floor the shop can hone the surface.
- Set flush with the surrounding floor on a flat, rigid base: concrete, or a wood subfloor stiff enough for natural stone (L/720) with an uncoupling membrane; flat within 1/8 in over 10 ft, full-coverage thinset. The surrounding floor's build-up sets the final thickness.
- Field and border panels at most 24″ × 48″; the shop places the seams clear of the figure.
- Slabs counted at 65 % yield for figure pieces and 80 % for panels.
- Planning values to confirm with the shop before anything is cut.
